Yucca linearifolia also called Yucca linearis, is a tree-like plant belonging to the genus Yucca. The species is native to Chihuahua and Coahuila ,Mexico. It has a trunk up to 3.5 meters tall, with a crown of fine blue leaves at the top, resembling an exploding firework. The flower is a large impressive panicle of white flowers.
It is suited to pot culture where it grows slowly but steadily , but will grow rapidly if planted in the ground in a nice sunny sheltered and well drained spot in the garden.
Seeds have never been available in the market, so it is reproduced from suckers , making it a rare and expensive plant.
It is surely the very best Yucca for the British climate , relatively fast growing, tolerant of both sun and rain given a well drained spot, and hardy down to -18C.
